Subspecies
Gampsorhynchus rufulus (Sibley and Monroe 1990, 1993) has been split into White-hooded Babbler (Gampsorhynchus rufulus) and Collared Babbler (Gampsorhynchus torquatus) following Collar (2006).
Formerly treated as conspecific with Collared Babbler (Gampsorhynchus torquatus).
