Subspecies
The following 5 subspecies are recognised:
kelsalli Sclater, WL, 1927 - Senegal east to Ghana.
chloronota Reichenow, 1895 - Togo east to Cameroon, Gabon and PRCongo.
granti Alexander, 1903 - Bioko I (Fernando Póo).
toroensis (Jackson, 1905) - Southern Central African Republic east to extreme southern Sudan, Uganda, extreme south-western Kenya and extreme north-western Tanzania. Considered by some authors to be a distinct species, Tawny-breasted Camaroptera (Camaroptera toroensis).
kamitugaensis Prigogine, 1961 - Itombwe region, in eastern DRCongo.
