Subspecies
The following 5 subspecies are recognised:
- hoeschi (Niethammer, 1955) - South-western Angola and north-western Namibia.
- albicans (Wahlberg, 1855) - Western Namibia (western Damaraland, northern Great Namaqualand).
- barlowi (Roberts, 1937) - Central and southern Great Namaqualand, in southern Namibia.
- nebulosa (Clancey, 1962) - South-western Namibia.
- tractrac (Wilkes, 1817) - Western South Africa (Northern Cape and south-western Free State south to Karoo).
