Subspecies
No subspecies.
In the past, often considered as conspecific with Cryptic Flycatcher (Ficedula crypta) and Furtive Flycatcher (Ficedula disposita), but differences are significant.
Similar Species
Female Snowy-browed Flycatcher (Ficedula hyperythra) which has a paler throat and duller brown tail. Female Rufous-throated Flycatcher (Ficedula rufigula) which has a much duller tail and lacks rufous supraloral spot. Female Mangrove Blue-Flycatcher (Cyornis rufigastra) which is larger, lacking white belly and rufous on tail.
