Subspecies
Forms a superspecies with Rufous-browed Flycatcher (Anthipes solitaris). Has been suggested that subspecies submoniliger of Rufous-browed Flycatcher (Anthipes solitaris) may belong with present species.
The following 3 subspecies are recognised:
monileger (Hodgson, 1845) - Central and eastern Himalayas from central Nepal east to Bhutan and north-eastern India (western Arunachal Pradesh), possibly also southern China (south-eastern Xizang).
leucops (Sharpe, 1888) - North-eastern India (southern and eastern Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland), Myanmar (except south-west), north-western Thailand, Laos and northern and central Vietnam (western and eastern Tonkin, northern and central Annam).
