Habitat
Subtropical and tropical lowland moist forest.

Rarity Status
Currently this species is not classified as a rarity in this country OR information has not been updated.
Status EX
Common until the 1970s, but plummeted to extinction in 1983, along with most of the island's native birds due to predation by the introduced brown tree snake (Boiga irregularis).

Habits
Secretive.
Voice
A loud 'ker-zwick', rapidly repeated. A descending series of short squeaks, and buzzy rasping notes. Song is a quick series of 6 - 8 upslurred whistles or a series of 4 slower, quavering notes.
Subspecies
No subspecies.
Considered by some authors to be a subspecies of Chuuk Flycatcher (Myiagra oceanica).
