Deep, cup-shaped or partly domed, composed of grass, lined with finer grass and plant-down, placed in a cane-grass tussock.

2; white, sparingly speckled and blotched with red-browns and greys, sometimes more at the larger end; swollen-oval; about 19 x 15 mm.

Similar Species
Grey Grasswren (Amytornis barbatus) which has a black eyestripe, a black double necklace and pale buff flanks, Thick-billed Grasswren (Amytornis modestus) which has darker underparts and Striated Grasswren (Amytornis striatus) which has a much less stout bill, a more distinctive moustachial stripe and darker, streaked breast.
