Subspecies
The following 2 subspecies are recognised:
venezuelana Phelps & Phelps Jr, 1956 - North-western Venezuela (south-western Táchira and extreme western Apure) and central Colombia (eastern Cundinamarca).
cucullata (Sclater, 1856) - Colombia in western Andes (west of Cali), on western slope of central range (in Antioquia, Risaralda and Valle del Cauca), and on western slope of eastern chain (in Huila at head of Magdalena Valley; presumably also farther north).
