Subspecies
Genus merged into Margarornis by some authors, whereas others suspect that it is closer to Premnoplex or Premnornis. Anatomical data are consistent with the idea that all are each others' closest relatives, but that present genus does not fit into any of the others. Species was at one time mistakenly considered to be a subspecies of Stripe-breasted Spinetail (Synallaxis cinnamomea).
adusta (Salvin & Godman, 1884) - South-eastern Venezuela (Mt Roraima and associated tepuis in south-eastern Bolívar), northern Brazil (Mt Roraima) and western Guyana (Mt Tewk-quay).
