Habitat
Subtropical and tropical high altitude grassland, rocky areas. From 1,600 - 2,800 m.

Range (Guide)

Argentina (B).

North-central Argentina in western C�rdoba (Sierras Grandes, Sierras de Comechingones) and north-eastern San Luis (Sierras de San Luis).

Subspecies
Has been thought to form a superspecies with Grey-flanked Cinclodes (Cinclodes oustaleti). Considered conspecific with latter by some authors and with Buff-winged Cinclodes (Cinclodes fuscus) by others, but plumage rather distinctive. Further research is needed.

No subspecies.
