Vagrant to Cayman Islands.
Breeds mainly eastern North America from south-eastern South Dakota and Great Lakes region east to southern Ontario and central New England, south to central Texas, Gulf Coast states, and central Florida. Winters from Caribbean slope of Nicaragua southern and eastern along both slopes to Colombia, north-western Venezuela and western Ecuador.
