Habitat
Pelagic. Also coastal inshore waters, sandy and pebbly shorelines, sandbars and spits.

Australia (E), Norfolk Island (E).

Australia, Norfolk Island (Australia), Lord Howe Island.

Rarity Status
Currently this species is not classified as a rarity in this country OR information has not been updated.

Status LC
Was extinct on Norfolk Island by 1774. Became extinct shortly after 1788, possibly due to hunting and invasive species.

Fish, squid, and other molluscs.

Subspecies
Considered by some authors to be a subspecies of Masked Booby (Sula dactylatra).
