Eastern Libya through Egypt, Israel and Jordan to coasts of Red Sea and Persian Gulf, east to south-western Pakistan. Winters in Madagascar, and also in south-eastern Africa.

Subspecies
Sometimes considered to form superspecies with Eleonora's Falcon (Falco eleonorae).
No subspecies.
Similar Species
Resembles dark morph Eleonora's Falcon (Falco eleonorae) but with more prominent yellow cere, con-colourous underwings and jizz more similar to Eurasian Hobby (Falco subbuteo). Juvenile even more similar, best seperated by stuctural differences and broad dark terminal band on undertail.
