Habitat
Heavily forested mountain slopes, probably occurring mostly in large valleys. From 1,500 - 2,800 m, but occasionally fom sea-level - 3,500 m.

Range (Guide)

Argentina (B), Bolivia (B), Colombia (B), Ecuador (B), Peru (B), Venezuela (B).

Coastal ranges of north-western Venezuela (Carabobo) and north-eastern Colombia (Santa Marta Mts), and southern on subtropical slopes of Andes from Venezuela (M�rida) through Colombia, Ecuador and Peru to west-central Bolivia and (formerly?) north-western Argentina.

Rarity Status
Currently this species is not classified as a rarity in this country OR information has not been updated.

Population
Estimated population is 1,000 - 2,499 (2010) and decreasing.

Status EN
Habitat loss due to conversion for agriculture is the main threat.
