Habitat
Subtropical and tropical lowland dry shrubland, high altitude grassland, dry savanna, hot desert. From sea-level - 5,000 m.

Range (Guide)

Angola, Botswana, Central African Republic, Chad, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Israel, Jordan (B) (NB), Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Oman (B), Saudi Arabia (B), Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania [United Republic of], Uganda, Yemen (B), Zambia, Zimbabwe.

Vagrant to Congo [The Democratic Republic of the], Lebanon, Mali, Rwanda.

Southern Chad and western Sudan; from Israel, Egypt (Sinai) and south-eastern Arabian Peninsula; Ethiopia to Somalia and thence south, with main range Kenya south to South Africa.
