Subspecies
Forms superspecies with Eurasian Buzzard (Buteo buteo) and Mountain Buzzard (Buteo oreophilus) and possibly also with Red-tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis) and Rufous-tailed Hawk (Buteo ventralis). Has been considered conspecific with Eurasian Buzzard (Buteo buteo).
No subspecies.
