Subspecies
Probably most closely allied to White-browed Hawk (Leucopternis kuhli) and Black-faced Hawk (Leucopternis melanops) of Amazonia.
No subspecies.
Similar Species
Mantled Hawk (Pseudastur polionotus) which has some black mottling on upper back, white tips to secondaries and no black on tip of tail.
