Habitat
Temperate grassland. From sea-level - 4,400 m.
Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Falkland Islands (Malvinas), Paraguay, Peru, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, Uruguay (B).
Colombia and Ecuador (above treeline) south through Peru, Bolivia and Paraguay to extreme southern Brazil, then south to Tierra del Fuego and Falkland Is.
