Subtropical and tropical lowland moist forest, saltmarshes, marshes, swamps.

Range (Guide)
Micronesia [Federated States of] (E) (B).

Kosrae in the Caroline Islands (Micronesia).
 
Rarity Status
Currently this species is not classified as a rarity in this country OR information has not been updated.

Status EX
Known only from two specimens collected in 1827 - 1828, it became extinct in the late 19th century. Extinction probably due to predation by rats brought on missionary and whaling ships in the 1830s and 1840s.
