Subspecies
A member of the large Grey-green Fruit-dove (Ptilinopus purpuratus ) species-group, within which associated with the Grey-green Fruit-dove (Ptilinopus purpuratus ) subgroup. Often considered to be a subspecies of Atoll Fruit-dove (Ptilinopus coralensis ) or Grey-green Fruit-dove (Ptilinopus purpuratus ).
