Habitat
Subtropical and tropical lowland moist forest. From sea-level - 800 m.
Indonesia (B) (NB).
Sumba (west-central Lesser Sundas).

Estimated population is 14,000 (2010) and decreasing.
Status NT
Habitat destruction through deforestation and possibly hunting are the main threats.

Subspecies
Closely allied to Thick-billed Green-pigeon (Treron curvirostra ) and has been considered a subspecies of Thick-billed Green-pigeon (Treron curvirostra ) or of Sri Lanka Green-pigeon (Treron pompadora ).
