Similar plumage patterns with Great Cuckoo-dove (Reinwardtoena reinwardti) suggest they are quite closely related.
No subspecies.
Similar Species
Great Cuckoo-dove (Reinwardtoena reinwardti) which is similar in size and shape but with blacker mantle and tail.
