Habitat
Riparian woodland, usually near water, urban areas.

Range (Guide)

Ethiopia (B) (NB), Kenya (B) (NB), Somalia (B) (NB).

South-eastern Ethiopia and along R Juba in south-western Somalia, along with all its Ethiopian tributaries.

Rarity Status
Currently this species is not classified as a rarity in this country OR information has not been updated.

Population
Estimated population is unknown (2010).

Status NT
Habitat destruction and degradation through conversion to agriculture is the main threat.

Nest
A loose platform of interlaced petioles and twigs, located in a tree about 2.5 m above the ground.

Subspecies
Forms a superspecies with Sunda Collared-dove (Streptopelia bitorquata), Eurasian Collared-dove (Streptopelia decaocto) and Barbary Dove (Streptopelia roseogrisea).

No subspecies.
