Brazil, Guyana, Venezuela.

Highlands and tepuis of southern and eastern Venezuela, Guyana and north-central Brazil.

Subspecies
Southern populations apparently represent a separate subspecies. Scientific description currently in preparation.

The following 2 subspecies are recognised:

willardi Weller & Renner, 2001 - Southern Venezuela, northern Brazil (Serran�a de la Neblina and Sierra Imeri).
xanthogonys Salvin & Godman, 1882 - Tepuis.
