Common in the interior. Highly nomadic, movements being highly influenced by rainfall.

Habitat
Semi-arid to arid country, timbered watercourses, open country dotted with scrub. Spinifex, sorghum, sunflowers, stubbles, spilt grain on roadsides.

Range (Guide)
Australia (B).

Introduced to Puerto Rico.

In a hole of a tree or stump.

Eggs (Guide)
2 - 8, usually 5; white; oval; 25 - 26 x 18 - 20 mm. Incubation: 18 - 20 days; by both sexes.

Fledge in about 23 - 31 days.

No subspecies.

Notes
As Cockatiels are now known to be small cockatoos, look for cockatoo-like behaviour.
