Habitat
Subtropical and tropical swamp forest. Also, subtropical and tropical mangroves, lowland moist forest, inland wetlands. From sea-level - 800 m.
Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay (B), Venezuela.
Eastern Panama through tropical South America mainly east of Andes to northern Argentina; Trinidad.
